PetCost-Calculator.com ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. This site is operated by Darren, reachable at hello@petcost-calculator.com.

Information We Collect

Calculator inputs. Pet type, breed, location, and lifestyle questions entered in our cost calculator are processed entirely in your browser. This data is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects data such as pages visited, time on site, general geographic location (country/city level), device type, and referring source. This data is aggregated and used to improve the site. GA4 sets cookies in your browser to track sessions.

Email addresses. If you voluntarily submit your email address (for example, to receive our Annual Pet Cost Report), that address is stored and used only to deliver the content you requested. We do not sell email addresses.

Server logs.Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically records standard web server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages requested. These logs are used for security and operational purposes and are retained for a limited period per Netlify's policies.

Cookies

This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense. Cookies are small text files stored in your browser that help these services recognise return visitors and measure usage.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or be alerted when cookies are set. Disabling cookies may affect certain site features. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent GA4 from collecting data about your visits.

Data Retention

Google Analytics 4 data is retained for 26 months by default, as set in our GA4 property. Email addresses you provide are retained until you unsubscribe. Server logs are retained per Netlify's standard log retention periods.

Your Rights (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have certain rights under applicable data protection law (including the GDPR), including the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate data
